Human beings are multifaceted - messy, complex, resilient and nuanced.
I believe that everyone has the potential to change, reach their goals and become their best selves with support, direction, accountability and celebrating all progress, big and small. You are the expert of your life, so I work collaboratively with you to understand your concerns and help you identify your next steps.
My name is Erica Woodford, I am queer, non-binary and use she/they pronouns. I have been a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist since 2020. Prior to completing my Masters of Social Work at Laurier University, I spent 10 years working at various mental health and community agencies.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in openminded, authentic, empathetic communication through a strengths based, humanistic, trauma informed, anti-oppressive, culturally aware lens. I tailor each session to your needs and draw upon a variety of modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotion focused, and Solution Focused.
I especially enjoy working with LGBT+ and queer folks as well as anyone experiencing significant life transitions and seeking insight, understanding, and a way forward.
I have certification from Rainbow Health Toronto in Transition related surgeries, planning, referral and care, giving me the qualifications to write referral letters supporting gender affirmation.
Let’s explore your facets together.
